Royal Waterloo Golf Club
The oldest club in Belgium, founded 85 years ago, moved to its present location at Ohain in 1959, where it’s close to the heart of everything. Within sight of the iconic Lion Mound at Waterloo, it’s half an hour from both the centre of Brussels and Charleroi airport. Everything about this sprawling 45-hole parkland complex feels exclusive: the greens and fairways are exceptionally well tended, and no fewer than five holes are visible from the clubhouse terrace. The principal course is the wooded, rolling, trap-laden La Marache, which was extensively redesigned in recent years to restore it to championship standard. Rated as a par 73, it ranks among Europe’s top 200 courses, and the adjacent 18-hole, Le Lion, is almost as impressive.
